About 75 people came out in the cold and rain to celebrate the groundbreaking for the Isaiah 117 House in York County! No one cared about the weather, because it was such a huge moment, full of energy, excitement, and anticipation.

Lindsay Lendyak shared her story, about how she discovered the need for kids going into foster care to have a place to land on their very worst day. From first hearing that story to the ground breaking has been a journey, but it is an exciting step.

The builder, True Homes, also shared their passion for the project. They are excited to partner with Isaiah 117 House, and the build should take about four months. As a larger organization, this is Isaiah 117 House's 49th ground breaking. There are 31 houses open. You can learn more about this ministry partner here.

As part of Here, Near, & Far, New City feels called to serve our community through partnerships with local organizations. We cannot do everything, but our historic partnerships with organizations like Congregations for Kids, Isaiah 117 House, and FARM127, who are engaging in the foster care space, it is an area that came to the forefront in our discernment of how to serve near, in the Greater Charlotte area. Our goal is to partner with ministries here in our city and position and inspire members of the New City family to meet the practical and spiritual needs of our neighbors.
