Summer Food Drive
During the school year, many kids eat breakfast and lunch at school – so when the summer rolls around, parents are often stretched to provide for their families. Common Heart's food pantries help bridge the gap.
This is a critical time for nonperishables and a 50% federal cut to The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), a major source of nonperishables, meat, and fresh produce for Common Heart's pantries, is adding to the uncertainty. For more details on these cuts and how you can help visit Common Heart's website. WSOC-TV also did a recent news story that you can watch here.
If you'd like to purchase nonperishables, Common Heart's biggest needs are canned meat like tuna, salmon, or chicken, canned or bagged beans, rice & pasta. While we are unable to collect food at our church locations this summer due to construction, you can shop easily from Common Heart's Amazon Wish List where items ship directly to Common Heart.
